SO How it is in Germany? What the LAW says?
Can I use and ride in helmet without any "pruefung" or no?
Is there any 100% good answer??
I have read a lot but no one give CLEAR and 100% SURE answer.
It is important for me as I paint helmets with airbrush and would love to know which helmets I can buy to sell and which people won't buy
Some helmets without ECE looks superb
Please advice. Danke

There is no obligation to use an ECE-proof helmet. The applicable regulation says, that helmets have to be produced to be suitable for road traffic.
An obligation for ECE did exist, but has been withdrawn some years ago.
Sorry for my BSE (badly spoken English).

Your English is great. Thank you for your help - I love some helmets without ECE or any other Test and these are great to work with.
Was just worried that people won't buy them - but in this case it's a very good news :D :D :D

yeah its actually no problem in Germany, it does not necessarily have to be the ECE certificate. However, in other European countries the helmets need to have ECE. A lot of people in Germany wear DOT approved helmets as well, I also heard that the DOT regulation is even better than the ECE one, which means that DOT helmets might be even safer for the rider.

That is what I though as well, DOT is known for its wide spectrum of researches.
And biltwells are really nice to work on - but without ECE has been a problem to me.... Till now :D :D :D
Soon to be offered... Lovely made biltwells

Danke guys.
