Hallo mariomas
in order to get german TÜV and Documents it would help to have similar Documents from a V75 wich is registrated in Germany.
what model do you have ? aTarga ....
greetings
Eric

Hi Mario,
welcome to the forum !
Bike looks good so far and it should be possible to get a TÜV approval ;-)
Of course the exhaust should be a silent one, idealy E-marked or the original one.
Seat looks a bit to short for two persons usage.
In Germany you will need a 65 cm long seat bench and a belt, that the passenger / pillion can grab.
If you intend to use it for single person only, it is perfect as it is.
Do you have the original papers for that bike ?
You have to deal with the "vehicle registration office" (german: Zulassungsstelle) to get a new set of papers for your bike.
Would it be possible to get an italian registration and papers and bring the bike to Germany then ?
TÜV is the official test institute in Western Germany and DEKRA is it in Eastern Germany.
Not sure about Berlin. From our history Berlin had a special status and was treated as Western Germany.
Have a chat with TÜV and DEKRA, ask if they will inspect an individual, technical change and if they will note that in the papers. One of them will say Yes, the other one will say No ;-)
Cheers and Ciao,
Michael

Hi Mario,
interesting situation ;-)
Ok, the militarian papers show the correct frame number and some technical details ?
Buying contract on hand ?
So you can proof that it is your bike ?
First you have to go to vehicle registration office (Zulassungsstelle) to start the process to get new papers.
They will tell you how to proceed ;-)
A main instance is the technical approval by TÜV or DEKRA.
They will fill in a form that states "everything" about the technical data and changes of the bike.
With this TÜV-form in your hands you go back to "Zulassungsstelle" and they can produce the new papers for your bike.
To get the bike legaly on the road, the "Zulassungsstelle" needs an insurance confirmation.
You have to request that from a (german?) insurance company and it will be sent as an electronic EVB (elektronische Versicherungs-Bestätigung) via SMS to your mobile phone or via e-mail.
The "Zulassungsstelle" will not be too expensive, I expect not more than 35 to max. 70,- Euros.
A number plate maker is typically located right beside the "Zulassungsstelle" and the number plate is below 20,- Euros.
Cost for TÜV or DEKRA are hard to calculate, as every single modification will cost money.
It is a kind of negotiation with the TÜV engineer, what needs to be noted in the papers.
With my TÜV (in Bavaria) I have to pay 35,- Euros per change and 65,- Euros per hour he is working on my bike or the related papers. It seems to be an expensive TÜV station, have heard of cheaper ones ;-)
Just some examples:
- no original fairing fitted: 35,- Euros
- new steering bar (papers required!): 35,- Euros
- tire dimension not stock, but new dimension acceptable: 35,- Euros
- different fuel tank from other Guzzi (model?): 35,- Euros
- rear shocks changed, but acceptable: 35,- Euros
- ... : 35,- Euros each
You have to make a list for your own, what are the changes you have done.
Some parts need official papers (like steering bar, exhaust, ...), some changes like rear frame just need to be sound and firm and of good craftsmanship, seat doesn't need any papers, but needs to be firmly mounted to the bike.
You see it is a complex issue with the TÜV and these are just estimations about the changes you have done.
TÜV/DEKRA will be the most expensive part of it all and it will cost you at least about 200,- Euros.
A special issue is the exhaust.
If you use "anything" for that, the TÜV/DEKRA will insist on a "drive-by noise test".
This noise test will cost around 200,- to 300,- Euros extra.
If you pass it within the (low!) noise limits, exhaust will be noted in the papers.
If you fail it, you have spent the money just to known, that this exhaust is to loud.
Probably you may use an exhaust from an other approved Guzzi model (german version!) or you may find an exhaust in the aftermarket, that has an approval.
As already said before, it would be very helpful to have a copy of the german papers of that Guzzi model you have.
I am not a Guzzi specialist and don't know which model this originally was or which is comparable to it.
Hope this helps ;-)
Good luck,
Ciao, Michael

Hi Mario,
This project is very interesting for me because I'm planning nearly the same change with a NTX 650.
Unfortunately the bike isn't in my garage so far. Still waiting
Hope you've got all the documents to visit your local TÜV/Decra.
Well, although the bike isn't here I'm looking for different opportunities regarding the fuel tank. My favourite one is from Laverda but hard to find.
Could you tell me from which bike your choice was grabbed?
Thanks and best
Tom
