Neuer Guzzisti aus Oberfranken
Verfasst: 10. Sep 2019
Hallo werte Forumsgemeinde,

Finally I completed my long-term Café Racer Project. It took 1.5 years to build.
The base was a frame of a Moto Guzzi T3 from 1976. I cut off unnecessary brackets from the frame and welded in a backframe "loop" for the new Café Racer seat. Some new brackets and a steering stop for the Öhlins fork were also welded in. Then the complete frame has been powder coated in black.
It needed a lot of individual milled and turned parts to fit everything together.
The fuel tank was made by hand-crafted aluminum.
The fender was made of steel with welded stainless steel strings for fixing.
The swingarm and the engine came from a '2004 Moto Guzzi California 1100. The cylinders of the engine were painted black and milled round. The engine was converted from electric injection to Dell'Orto carburettors with open intake trumpets.
The exhaust system is a unique hand crafted system with spark silencers
The Öhlins suspension fork and the Brembo brakes of the Guzzi CaféRacer are from a Ducati 999S. The rear suspension shock absorbers are custom made in length and weight load from YSS.
The bike has the tire sizes 120/70 R17 (on 3,5" rim) on the front and 150/60 R17 (on 4,5" rim) on the rear.
The seat pad was self designed and sewn from genuine black leather.
The Guzzi has a complete LED-lighting and a electronic ignition with several ignition curves. The complete electrics are placed under the fuell tank to get a free frame triangle.
Front fender fuel tank and seat are painted in "Maserati Platinum Grey Metallic".
